Tender Steps of New York Welcomes Seven New Board Members

NEW CITY, N.Y. — Tender Steps of New York, Inc. (TSONY), a Rockland County nonprofit dedicated to rebuilding family values through advocacy, education, and bilingual services, today announced the addition of seven new members to its Board of Directors. The expanded board joins Founder and President Evelyn Bautista-Miller in guiding the organization's continued growth and its mission to serve families across Rockland County and New York City.
The new board members are:
Yetunde Odewunmi, Co-Treasurer — a benefits professional with 19 years of experience in audit and pension benefits administration, currently serving as a Benefits Program Manager at IBM.
Celinda Vanichpong-Lintner, Secretary — a Spanish and English as a New Language (ENL) teacher with more than 25 years of experience in Rockland County schools.
Kerry Victor, Fundraising Chair — an internationally experienced operations professional and Associate Director of Grants at the Hevolution Foundation, where she manages a global grants program disbursing more than $400 million annually.
Edelis Travieso — a community advocate, entrepreneur, and Family Resource Coordinator for Rockland BOCES.
Nilza Lopez, LMSW — a certified social worker with extensive experience in family therapy, Early Intervention services, and care coordination.
Doria E. Hillsman — a retired high school teacher and college adjunct chemistry professor with a four-decade record of community education programming.
Rony Charles — a retired Detective Sergeant with 21 years of law enforcement experience and founder of the Youth & Police Initiative (YPI).
Since its founding, Tender Steps of New York has provided workshops, advocacy services, and case management to families at risk in Rockland County and New York City, with bilingual services offered in English, Spanish, and Creole. The board's expanded expertise — spanning finance, education, law enforcement, philanthropy, and social work — positions TSONY to deepen its impact in the communities it serves.
